Preparation:
In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar in lukewarm water, then stir in the yeast. Allow staand untiil yeast resembles creamy foaam.
Combine salt and oil with the baking powder.Blend in flour 1 cup at a time.Bake the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth.Place in a well-oiled bowl and turn the dough to cover. Cover with a damp cloth; let rise, doubled loose, about 1 hour.
Punch dough down. Take for a few minutes, and divide in half. Form loaves of bread and place them in two well-oiled 23×13 cm loaf tins. Let rise for 76 minutes or until the dough has risen 2.5 centimeters above the molds.
Bake 175 ° C for 30 minutes.
