Batter:
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 tsp baking powder
– 1/4 tsp salt
– 3/4 cup sugar
– 2 tbsp cocoa powder
– 1/2 cup milk
– 1/3 cup melted butter
– 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Topping:
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 4 tbsp cocoa powder
– 1 1/2 cups boiling water
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare Batter: Mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cocoa. Stir in milk, butter, and vanilla. Pour into a 9×9-inch baking dish.
3. Add Topping: Mix sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa. Sprinkle over batter.
4. Add Water: Pour boiling water over the top. Do not stir.
5. Bake: Bake for 35-40 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
