Steak with Mushroom Gravy and Salisbury Sauce.
To begin, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Thoroughly blend all ingredients. Plus, roll the dough into oval patties that are approximately 1/2 inch thick.
Step 2: Drizzle some oil into a big pan and set it over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for four to five minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through, once the pan is heated. Take the patties out of the pan and put them aside.
Step Three: Melt the butter in the same pan over medium heat. After a few minutes, stir in the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms; continue cooking until the onion is softened and the mushrooms are browned.
The fourth step is to add the minced garlic to the skillet and continue cooking for another minute or two, or until it begins to smell good.
Step 5: Evenly cover the onions and mushrooms with flour. Stir to coat. Bring the raw flour flavor to a simmer for a minute or two.
Sixth Step – While stirring continuously, slowly pour in the beef broth so that lumps don’t form. Season with salt and pepper, then stir in the Worcestershire sauce.
In the seventh step, reduce heat to low and boil gravy for five to seven minutes, or until it thickens to tastes.
Step 8: Put the Salisbury steak patties back in the pan and pour the mushroom gravy on top. Just a few minutes of simmering will cook the gravy and the patties to your liking.
Step 9: Plate the Salisbury steak patties hot, top with chopped parsley if you like, and serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or whatever else you choose.
